RSD20-PW mulcher has been designed based on RSD shredders that had been produced earlier. Previous construction allows for leveling and preliminary rolling of shredded road material.
The new construction allows for a preliminary compaction of the shredded road material during one work ride. As a result, such aggregation of equipment makes road building or road repairs more efficient but it also requires application of a more powerful and heavier tractor (due to a big weight raised in the transport position). Like in the previous construction RSD20-PW has been designed for shredding the surface of dirt roads that are covered with turf or roads partially treated with rubble or asphalt waste.
Initial compaction of road material together with shredding improves subsequent leveling and profiling performed by a grader. Additionally as a result of application of traditional mulcher components the device can be used for shredding logging slash or other shredding treatments.
The machine is mounted on and powered from tractors supplying a minimum power output of 160 kW (a 4 wheel-drive tractor is recommended). Power requirement depends strictly on the applied working depth of the rotor.
