Trailer OTL-218 has been designed for forwarding of cut-to-length wood from a place of its harvesting to wood yards next to hardened roads for transshipment or to handling wood yards located on forest areas.
The trailers are for transportation of mainly cut-to-length wood of a length between 1,0 – 2,5 m (usually pulpwood 1,20 or 2,40 m).
The trailer is suitable for working with agricultural tractors equipped with:
- pick up hitch (for 1-axle trailers)
- auxiliary hydraulic connector (for crane and drawbar steering)
- electric outlet – for light system.
The trailer can be equipped with a crane for loading and unloading timber. The trailer OTL-218 thanks to its bogie axle and a very functional construction is an universal mode of transport on distances up to 15 km. A single-axle chassis improves handling capabilities of the set tractor – trailer, and the low pressure agricultural tires together with bogie suspension guarantee a stable ride off- and on-road.
A hydraulic crane with stabilizers assembled on the trailer that is powered from the hydraulic system of a tractor enables loading and unloading of timber independently of any other auxiliary devices.
For a safe use of the trailer it is required to apply a tractor that is equipped with a pick up hitch of a load capacity at least 16 kN (approximately 1600 kg).
An assembly of a hydraulic crane on the trailer requires calculations and stability attempts of the set trailer – crane every time it is loaded.
